When a tenant moves in, the admin can verify the items to be stored at their facility and decide either to approve or deny the tenant’s move-in. More often, there’s a high risk of storing illegal goods such as drugs or explosives in the storage units.
Hence, enabling this feature prevents hoarding of illicit goods and the occurrence of criminal activities since it is directly brought to the storage owner’s purview right at the time of move-in.
How to enable the feature?
Click Settings >> Preferences >> Other
As you scroll down, you may find the checkbox for the move-in approval feature. Enable the checkbox and click on Save.
This action will trigger an email to the Support team, and they will enable the feature at the backend.
Once the feature is enabled, you can select the number of days before which your response to the request can be changed.
How does it work?
At the time of each online move-in, the admin will receive a notification on the notification panel. The bell icon at the top implies the receipt of notifications.
By clicking on the icon, the admin can see the notifications on all the online move-ins that occurred since their last visit to the portal.
Clicking on the notification message will take you to the page that contains details about the tenant and the storage unit.
Admin can preview all the details given by the tenant in the ‘Tenant Details’ and ‘Storage Details’ tabs.
The ‘Agreement & E-Sign’ tab is where Admins can decide whether to accept or reject the contract.
Approving the request
By clicking on the ‘Approve’ button, the signature pad for the admin’s signature will appear on the screen. After signing, click on ‘Done.’
Now you have approved the lease and you will be shown a success page like this:
The next page shows the created lease and lists down the items, lease agreements, and other tenant details on the screen.
Declining the request
To reject the request, click on the ‘Decline’ button. Enter Rejection comments in the text area if you have any.
As you click on ‘Done’, you can see a pop-up for confirmation.
As you click on ‘Yes’, the request for move-in is rejected.
However, if you changed your mind sooner or later, you could still accept the request. For that, go to the ‘Tenants’ tab, select the tenant status as ‘Rejected’, and search. Click on the ‘Action’ button and click on ‘Consider for Approval.’
There will be a prompt to move the request to the ‘Waiting list’. Click on ‘Yes’
Now, you can do the filter again by selecting the tenant status as ‘Yet to Approve’ and search.
As you click on the approve button, your screen will look like this:
